  • Wadata Relief Care Initiative- WRCI had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Annual Cash Working Group workshop held in Abuja from 11th to 13th February 2025! Our Executive Director and Cash Officer joined fellow leaders and practitioners in engaging discussions and collaborative efforts to enhance cash-based assistance in our communities.

    As the Technical Co-lead of the CWG in Yobe State, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to advancing cash assistance programs that empower and uplift the most vulnerable populations. We ensure proper coordination among all CWG members to maximize the impact of our collective efforts. Together, we are forging a path towards greater resilience and prosperity.

"Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) Stregthens Collaboration with the Government of Nigeria on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE)"

  • In line with its unwavering commitment to supporting the Government of Nigeria in its efforts to prevent and counter violent extremism (PCVE), Wadata Relief Care Initiative- WRCI continues to foster strategic partnerships and align its initiatives with national priorities.

    As part of this mission, our Executive Director Adamu Muhammad recently paid a courtesy and familiarization visit to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Counter TerrorismCentre. During this visit, he had a productive engagement with the Principal Staff Officer from the Directorate of Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.

    The primary objective of the visit was to ensure that WRCI’s programs are fully aligned with the policy framework and the National Action Plan for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism. By aligning our initiatives with the government’s strategies, we aim to enhance the impact of our efforts in building resilient communities and addressing the root causes of violent extremism.

    The visit was met with commendation, with the Principal Staff Officer acknowledging the significance of sustained collaboration in achieving shared goals. A call was made for continued engagement and deeper partnerships to amplify the effectiveness of PCVE efforts nationwide.

    WRCI remains committed to its role as a reliable partner in fostering peace and security across Nigeria. We look forward to ongoing cooperation with the Government of Nigeria and other stakeholders in our collective mission to create a safer, more inclusive society.
  • In our ongoing mission to provide critical aid to those impacted by the devastating floods, WRCI, in collaboration with IOM Nigeria through the Rapid Response Fund and funded by USAID - Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, has distributed Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA). Each household received NGN 71,312.00, ensuring they meet the minimum expenditure basket of NGN 69,314.00.

    In Potiskum LGA, 1,654 households received support. In Bade, 1,141 households benefitted. Bursari saw 856 households assisted, and in Yunusari, 2,053 households received aid. Overall, 53,554 individuals have benefited from this essential support.

    We are committed to making a difference, one household at a time.

"Update: Supporting Flood-Affected Communities in Yobe State"

  • Wadata Relief Care Initiative- WRCI, led by our Executive Director, recently spearheaded the Lifesaving Intervention project for flood-affected communities in Bade, Bursari, Potiskum, and Yunusari LGAs of Yobe State. This initiative, in partnership with IOM Nigeria through the Rapid Response Fund (RRF)and funded by USAID - Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance , aims to provide critical support to those in need.

    During a meeting with the Executive Secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Mohammed Goje, we introduced the project and discussed strategies to streamline coordination and avoid data duplication. Dr. Goje praised WRCI's efforts to support flood victims with Multipurpose Cash Assistance, highlighting the importance of our work in these challenging times.
