Mission
WRCI is a locally led humanitarian and development organization committed to improving the wellbeing, protection, and resilience of conflict and climate-affected communities in Nigeria. Working in close partnership with communities, government institutions, and development partners, WRCI delivers integrated, rights-based, and community-driven interventions that promote mental wellbeing, protect children and women, strengthen social cohesion, and support recovery from crises. Through research, advocacy, capacity strengthening, and accountable programming, WRCI addresses the root causes of vulnerability and exclusion, enabling individuals and communities to cope with adversity and build pathways toward sustainable peace and development.

Our Values
Established in 2018, WRCI began operations in 2019 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2023. The organisation emerged in response to the conflict and violence affecting Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, launching activities to provide succour to people affected by insurgency, banditry, and related humanitarian crises.

Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political humanitarian and developmental organisation advancing children's rights, equality for girls and young people, and equitable governance through relief, protection, advocacy, and community-based programming.
WRCI operates in crisis-affected communities across Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, with hubs in Damaturu and Katsina.
We work with communities to manage conflict before it escalates by building trust, improving relationships across groups and authorities, and strengthening local capacity for peaceful resolution.
We increase young people's access to financial services, financial literacy, entrepreneurship support, and employment skills training.
